BCHS FFA Exceed in State Proficiency Areas

The Iowa FFA State Proficiency Judging was held in Ankeny, Iowa on Saturday February 25th as FFA week concluded. 100% of FFA members have proficiencies as part of the agricultural program and the FFA. These proficiencies range in the areas of Agricultural Communications to Service Learning and from Diversified Agricultural Production to Swine Production. Proficiency Award winners have excelled in their Supervised Agricultural Experience (SAE) Programs. These awards encourage members to develop specialized skills that will apply toward a future career. State winners will advance to the National FFA competition where they will compete against winners from the other State FFA Associations. The four national finalists that are selected from each area will be recognized at the National FFA Convention and Expo in October.


Beckman Results were as follows: 
1st Gold- Lauren Cherne (2023) in the area of Agricultural Processing Placement
1st Gold- Libby Knipper(2023) in the area of Agriscience Research Integrated Systems
1st Gold- Maria Kruse (2024) in the area of Agriscience Research Plant Systems
1st Gold- Olivia Mensen (2023) in the area of Swine Production Entrepreneurship
Gold- Leah Thier (2023) in Equine Science Placement
Silver-Grace Helle (2023) in Vegetable Production Entrepreneurship
Silver- Michael Schilling (2024) in Grain Production Placement
Silver- Noah Gaul (2024) in Dairy Production Placement
Bronze- Ben Schuckert (2024) in Diversified Livestock Placement.
The 1st and 2nd place students will be recognized for their Supervised Agricultural Experience projects on April 18th at the Iowa FFA Convention in Ames.
